COLUMBIA FALLS TO THE POLICE And this sentence about the 50 or so people arrested for breaking into and vandalizing Hamilton Hall is the least surprising thing I've seen all day:
Police say the people occupying Hamilton Hall were "mostly professionals," rather than students. There were no reported injuries during the operation.
You don't say. Professional protesters are backed by deep pockets who hate America and they are quickly taking over these protests. The damage to the building is pretty significant and the school has said any students arrested will be expelled but I don't believe them as they have backed down from every other edict they've issued. At UCLA counter protesters showed up to take on the Pro-Hamas mob and there was fighting and confrontations until the police showed up to disperse them. What's funny to me about this is quotes like this one from a professor:
Ananya Roy, a geography professor at UCLA, condemned the university over its lack of response to the counter-protesters. “It gives people impunity to come to our campus as a rampaging mob,” she told the LA Times. “The word is out they can do this repeatedly and get away with it. I am ashamed of my university.”
She said that ONLY about the counter protesters, who I assume were pro-Israel although they may have just been there to cause trouble as I don't see any Israeli flags in the photos. This after the pro-Hamas protesters took over and created an encampment intended to disrupt the university.
THE ROT ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES Our friend Cliff May wrote about the rot happening on college campuses here and he joins me at 2:30 to talk about it. In the column he references just how far back the anti-Semitism in the Middle East goes, and spoiler alert, it predates the creation of Israel. Read it to be far more knowledgeable than any of these idiots on campus.
WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING WITH THESE STUDENTS? It's like they've gone from skulls full of mush straight into ISIS wannabes. HotAir.com's David Strom has a great column here about how students who were shouting for a free Palestine are now shouting about wanting to be martyrs for the cause. Will they fully convert now? Will they demand women cover their faces? Do they REALLY want to be like Iran? They are chanting their fealty to Al Qassam and demanding they kill another soldier now. What the actual you-know-what??? This is next level stuff.
AURARIA LEADERS NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS In trying to beg and cajole the empowered idiots to leave on their own volition. Of course they won't because the schools are being weak and pathetic with their offers of sun shades and snacks or whatever. The students say they will "defend" the encampment and I say let's find out exactly what that means, shall we? I've decided after yesterday's guest calling MAGA terrorists I'm just going to do the same thing. Why not, it makes as much sense.

WHEN DO THE PROTESTS AGAINST EGYPT AND JORDAN BEGIN? No one wants the Palestinians in their country. No one. Except Joe Biden but more on that later. Jordan has wisely come out and put to rest the notion that Hamas, who may be losing their cushy home base in Qatar, will be welcome in Jordan. After the leadership of the terror organization said they would relocate to Amman Jordan quickly sent out someone to say not a chance. Hamas can go home to Iran. That's where they belong. Scratch that, they belong in Hell but Israel can't get them there fast enough. As Israel plans to attend cease fire talks that Hamas can't be bothered to attend, while also planning their Rafah attacks while trying to move Palestinian refugees out of the way, Egypt has thrown cold water on the idea of letting Palestinian refugees into their country. Egypt refuses to take in Palestinians, citing threats to security and concerns it would undermine a future Palestinian state. U.N. agencies and international NGOs wouldn’t assist in the process because they consider it a form of forced displacement.
So when do the protests against these two Arab nations come? JK, they won't because it's not about anything other than Jew hatred.

THE NHS SAYS SEX IS A BIOLOGICAL FACT And hoo boy is this going to create a firestorm that would have been unimaginable 15 years ago. The decision to declare that sex is a biological fact is revolutionary today and designed to protect women's rights to get care without having a biological man who has decided he is a female being foisted upon them. The NHS is still committed to caring for trans patients, but they will be placed in single sex spaces now.

WILL THE NEW DENVER DA BE ANY BETTER THAN THE OLD ONE? The candidates had a forum and though they said similar things they are different. I was inclined to support Walsh because of his stance on police, but then he says he wants to support the Harm Reduction Action Network and I think they are a huge problem. His opponent is supported by a bunch of hard left Dems I don't care for when it comes to policy so this is a tough choice. Hopefully whoever wins will be better than the ineffective Beth McCann.
COLORADO IS TRYING TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR ILLEGALS TO GET DRIVERS LICENSES And of course the logic is that they will drive ANYWAY so let's just decriminalize it rather than hold them accountable. Read more here.

DON'T WAIT FOR A RATE CUT THIS YEAR If you've put off a big purchase waiting for interest rates to drop I would count on that. The Fed chair says inflation would need to tick down, which it shows no sign of doing, before the Federal Reserve will drop rates.
THE PATRIARCHY WINS AGAIN IN WEST VIRGINIA Where five girls who refused to compete against a trans girl have now been told they can't compete in the district anymore. I hope they sue as this is clearly a violation of their First Amendment rights.
WHAT DOES THE RECLASSIFICATION OF POT REALLY MEAN? Not as much as some would like, but it does move it into a different class than heroin and cocaine, which I do think is appropriate. It should be in the same class as alcohol but we're not there yet. This move would create a whole bunch of new headaches for dispensaries, as they would have to register with the DEA and follow many of the same requirements as your local pharmacies, which are cumbersome.
