Short Thurs Blogcast: Where Jews are safe

Hey gang, this will be a very short blogcast as my show is only half an hour long today due to a rare early Rockies game.

Police take down UCLA encampment

It appears that while there were dozens of arrests, the enforcement action, while loud and chaotic, was mostly non-violent. (And I'm NOT saying these are "mostly peaceful protests" but rather that it appears that nobody (or almost nobody) got hurt here.

I expect that nothing of significance will happen to the arrestees. They are, after all, in Los Angeles, with arguably the worst (most anti-law, pro-criminal) DA in the nation.

Brenda Dickhoner is President & CEO of Ready Colorado. We'll discuss the rewritten school funding bill that passed the State House of Representatives and now makes its way to the Senate. It's an exceedingly complex issue. Smaller and rural districts seem in favor of the bill. Some large districts, including DougCo, JeffCo, and others are against it (though the rewrite may lessen their opposition.) One thing that inclines me favorably toward it is that the big teachers union is against it.

Remarkable that only two Republican state senators voted to repeal Arizona's total ban on abortion (even though doing so would leave a 15-week ban in place.)
