Denver Pit Bull Measure Goes To Full City Council

Denver is one step closer to once again allowing pit bulls in the city. A proposal to allow the animals to be lawfully registered was moved to the full city council by a committee vote yesterday. The modification to the 1989 ban would allow owners to apply for a three-year probationary license, but it would come with requirements such as proof of vaccinations and a microchip for the animals. If there are no violations at the end of the three-year period, owners can apply for a regular license.
