Covid-19 Threat Makes Toilet Paper Fly Off the Shelves

KOA Newsradio is tracking many reports from consumers who say they are having problems finding toilet paper on store shelves. Some big box stores have sold out as people stock up in case they have to be home bound during a coronavirus outbreak. Many outlets say they will limit how much toilet paper you can buy when they get new stock.

MSU-Denver marketing professor, Darrin-Duber-Smith, says it's like the entire country is preparing for a hurricane. He says we are seeing shortages just like you would see in a state where they know a hurricane is coming.

Duber-Smith says manufacturrers of toilet paper or hand sanitizer can't just flip a switch and meet rapidly rising demand. It can take weeks, even months, to ramp up a supply chain .
