Pine Gulch Fire at 20,000 Acres

The Pine Gulch fire in Mesa County continues to grow, and there are evacuations.

The fire's now at more than 20,000 acres, and more than 450 firefighters are battling hot temperatures, low humidity, and winds gusting to 20-miles-per-hour.

The fire is 0% contained. It's burning about 18 miles north of Grand Junction.

The Pine Gulch fire was lightning-caused, and began July 31st.

There are hazy skies across the metro area from the fire at the other end of the state.
