The beat goes on for the Denver Broncos offense.

And unfortunately, that is not a good thing.

The Broncos offensive struggles continued in a 16-9 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High. Denver has now lost four consecutive games.

The Broncos again could not reach 20 points scored in a game. They average and NFL-worst 14.3 points per game. They have only scored as many as 17 points in a game one time and that was in a 32-23 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on October 2.

Quarterback Brett Rypien, starting for the injured Russell Wilson, completed 24-of-46 passes for 225 yards and an interception.

After falling behind 7-0, the Broncos got on the scoreboard when running back Latavius Murray had a two-yard touchdown run with 1:33 left in the first quarter. Brandon McManus missed the extra point and the Broncos still trailed 7-6.

McManus' 44-yard field goal with 3:41 remaining in the second quarter gave the Broncos a 9-7 lead. They would not score again.

The Jets took a 10-9 lead into halftime on Greg Zuerlein's 45-yard field goal on the final play of the first half. Zuerlein added field goals of 33 and 40 yards in the fourth quarter.

The struggles of the offense continue to overshadow terrific performances by the Broncos defense. The Jets only had 260 yards of total offense and 10 first downs. But they found a way to win.
