State Sen Rachel Zenzinger Talking Construction-Defects Reform Bill

State Sen Rachel Zenzinger is a Democrat who represents Senate District 19, northeastern Jefferson County. Part of the reason that there are so few condos available to purchase in Colorado is that, despite some recent reform, we have construction defect laws in this state that make it far too easy to sue a builder or developer and make it too expensive and risky for those folks to build reasonably priced homes that can be a young adult or young couple’s first foray into home ownership. Surprisingly, given the Democratic domination of our state government, there is an effort afoot to reduce those costs and risks because Colorado desperately needs more moderately priced housing. Rachel is leading the charge. We'll discuss the bill and how she's working to get just enough Dem support to get past the nanny-staters and those owned by the trial lawyers.
