October 6, 1990 - "The Fifth Down"

The Buffs come from behind to beat Missouri 33-31, scoring the game-winning touchdown on a "fifth down." Watch the Video as officials fail to count a down when the Buffs spike the ball to stop the clock and mistakenly give CU five cracks at the end zone. Colorado's score comes on the final play of the game, a QB sneak by 850-KOA's very own, Charles Johnson!   Watch what happened from the goal line at  Missouri according to CJ!


January 1, 1991 - "National Champions"

The 1990 edition of the University of Colorado football team accomplished two of the biggest "firsts" in its storied history. The Buffaloes played the nation's toughest schedule and posted an 11-1-1 record overall, with the win over Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl cementing the school's first national championship!



September 24, 1994 - "The Miracle at Michigan"

Kordell Stewart's 64-yard touchdown pass to Michael Westbrook, via a Blake Anderson tip, gives #7 CU a stunning 27-26 win over #4 Michigan as time expired.  "The Catch" was immortalized on the cover of Sports Illustrated and the national play-of-the-year and won an ESPY.



November 19, 1994 - "Salaam Over 2,000 yards"

Heisman Trophy winner, Rashaan Salaam became the fourth college football player to rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season in a game against Iowa State.  Salaam was a first round draft pick selected by the Chicago Bears in 1995.


September 27, 1997 - "Ben Kelly 99 yard Kickoff Return"

Buffs Speed Demon, CB Ben Kelly made his mark on the field in 1997.  In a game against Wyoming, he returned a kick 99 yards for a Touchdown!  Kelly was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the third round.


November 23, 2001 - "62-36 over Nebraska"

In one of the most memorable CU games in recent history, the Buffs dominated the Huskers behind 198 yards and a school record six touchdowns from TB Chris Brown.


October 5, 2002 - "Jeremy Bloom 94 yard TD"

Though his time was short with the Buffs, he was undoubtedly one of the most electrifying return-men on the field for Colorado.  On homecoming in 2002, he caught a pass from QB Robert Hodge and scampered 94 yards for a Touchdown.

 

 

October 16, 2004 - "Mason Crosby 60 yard FG"

CU's most prolific kicker, Mason Crosby kicked one of the longest field goals in college football history.  Against Iowa State, Crosby nailed a 60-yarder at Folsom Field.  He was a sixth round draft selection by the Green Bay Packers in 2007.


October 14, 2006 - "Bobby Anderson HOF"

One of the most memorable seasons in Colorado Football history was capped off on Dec. 13, 1969 as All-America tailback Bobby Anderson's record setting performance led the Buffaloes to a 47-33 Liberty Bowl win over Paul "Bear" Bryant's Alabama Crimson Tide.  A member of the CU Athletic Hall of Fame and the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, Anderson was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in December 2006.



September 29, 2007 - "Buffs Beat #3 Oklahoma"

Coming off a 2-10 season in 2006, the Buffs turned the ship around in a hurry upsetting the third ranked Oklahoma Sooners in 2007 at Folsom Field.  Kevin Eberhart booted a 45-yarder as time expired.
