On March 19th, 2009 I got to ride in the backseat of an F-16 at Buckley Air Force Base with pilot TenEyck LaTourrette. It was THE MOST AMAZING experience of my life and I hope you all enjoy looking through my photos that were taken from the ground and the air. Valentine's Day surprises can come in all forms and I got a BIG one on Friday afternoon! Jimmy and I got a call that there was a message spelled out in cars at the GO Chevy dealership at I-25 and Hwy 36. When we got there I was shocked to see that the message was for me! They wrote "Hi Amelia :)" with over 40 cars on the top floor of the parking garage at the dealership!
Thank you guys! You made my year!
The Holiday season means that more and more people will be out on our roadways after having too much to drink.
CDOT, MillerCoors, RTD and local taxi cab companies are now providing cab and light rail vouchers to participating bars, clubs and restaurants to help cut down on the number of people who are tempted to drink and drive.
The program is running in Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs and the full list of participating bars, clubs and restaurants can be found at www.planaheadcolorado.com. The vouchers come in the form of $5.00 coupons for taxi cabs and on New Year's Eve, RTD will run for free.
The approximate cost of a DUI in Denver is around $10,000. During the holiday season, there is an increased amount of DUI patrol on our roadways.
